Saturday - May 31 - Noon-2:00pm Pamela Ciafardini Casebolt & Philip G. Ciafardini Co-Author debut book-signing, Images of America-Italians of Greater Cincinnati. The Italian emigration from Italy to their eventual settling in Cincinnati began before 1800. This "new" Arcadia publication gives readers an understanding of the early lives of the Italian immigrants and an appreciation of what they held dear to them as they learned to dedicate themselves to their church, community and new country. The book retails for $19.99. JUNE Friday - June 6 - 6:00-9:00pm "A Musical Taste of Kentucky" featuring Kyle Meadows and Tisa McGraw Hammer Dulcimer/Celtic Harp Concert. Stop-in and see the assortment of Kentucky hand-crafted garden items: bird feeders, houses and baths; yard stakes; planters, wind chimes, metal deck plant hangers and seed packets, including Kentucky Bluegrass. Musicians Meadows and McGraw will entertain guests to a concert of Traditional, Celtic and Appalachian music, while sampling Kentucky Proud food items. This event is part of the Newport Gallery Hop and WAAM (writers, authors, actors and musician) event. Free and open to the public Saturday - June 7 - Noon-2:00pm Don Drewry, Hammer Dulcimer Concert and Appalachian Folk Tales - Mr. Drewry plays traditional music on traditional instruments. His family history parallels a portion of the history of the hammered dulcimer from Europe (Normandy) to England to Colonial America to the Appalachians. Mr. Drewry is a first generation Appalachian migrant born in Clifton Forge, Virginia, who resides in Highland Heights, Kentucky. Saturday - June 14 - Noon-2:00pm Marianne Brown Pottery Trunk Show - Ms. Brown produes a range of utilitarian forms, such as bowls, teapots, vases, cups, bird feeders, and other pieces that are wheel-thrown an hand-built. Ancient stamp designs that she makes herself are pressed into contemporary forms. She hopes these designs provide a "means-of-expression" within her objects meant for daily use. Saturday June 21 - Noon-2:00pm Elizabeth Worley, "Handwoven Baskets by That Kentucky Lady" - Basket-making demonstration. Ms. Worley is a juried member of the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program. Each basket in the "Kentucky Lady" collection is signed and dated. Attached to every basket is a stenciled wooden tag with date, type of basket and logo. Saturday June 28 & Sunday June 29 - 10:00am-4:00pm East Row Garden Walk-featuring "Seven Secret" Gardens. Saturday June 28 - Noon-4:00pm P.J. Campbell, P-JArtt Studio, - whimsical painted galvanized steel sculptures for interior and exterior. Ms. Campbell's designs range in size from 12-inches to 6-feet. Join us as we watch Ms. Campbell transform metal into whimsical flowers, cats, dogs, cyclists and even people through her artistic painting.
