A century-long tradition of preserving and creating Appalachian folk arts and crafts. The Berea College Student Crafts Program is a cherished part of Berea's tradition. Berea College Crafts have been created with skill and care by Berea College students and their artisan mentors. Brea College is primarily dedicated to providing superb undergraduate education to talented students of limited financial means. At least 80% of Brea College students come from Kentucky and the Appalachian counties of eight other states. Training students to serve and lead the Appalachian region has been central to Berea's purpose since its founding in 1855.
