Baskets Handwoven Baskets by that Kentucky Lady-Elizabeth is a juried member of the Kentucky Craft Market Program. She has been making and selling baskets since 1984. Over the years she has sold baskets to customers across the country, winning several booth awards along the way. Each basket in the Kentucky Lady collection is signed and dated. Attached to every basket is a stenciled wooden tag with date type of basket, and logo. Hand-woven in the "Heartland" of the Commonwealth - Elizabethtown, Kentucky - Heartland Basketry baskets reflect the beauty, quality and durability one comes to expect from craftspersons in the region. Each basket is constructed of high quality rattan, with the handles and bands of many baskets embellished with woodburned imagery based on a natural theme such as flowers, herbs and rural images of the Bluegrass State. Once a basket is completed, it is stained with a linseed oil mixture for a rich, comfortable look. Hillcrest Collectibles-Karen O'Nan Martin offers unique handcrafted baskets made from natural wood reed with oak and hickory handles. Natural dyes made from walnuts and berries are used to color the reed. Accents from nature include wheat, eucalyptus, seagrass, cornhusks, herbs, and dried flowers grown in my own yard.
